Welcome to Harpenden Photographic Society
Harpenden Photographic Society caters for all abilities – from beginner to the more advanced photographers. We are a lively and growing club of around 50 active members. Our meeting are held from September to June on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
Our varied programme gives members to chance to enjoy and improve their own photography, and to mix and chat with other likeminded enthusiasts. Visiting speakers are drawn from well-known amateur and professional photographers and give members the opportunity to learn and be inspired by work of many different types and genres. Our meetings combine both viewing and discussing photographs and also the technical aspects of photography. So whilst we do not provide photographic training as such, members are able to improve their photographic eye and their technical skills.
There is also plenty of opportunity for members to show and get feedback on their own work, either at member’s evenings, via the series of competitions held throughout the year or by entering our popular annual exhibition.
You are more than welcome to attend three meeting before deciding to join, but note that non-members are not allowed to enter the competitions or exhibition.
